Archaeological Society of New Mexico Scholarships


ASNM is proud to have awarded $5,800 in scholarship money for the 2019-2020 academic year.

The Scholarship Committee selected six students from four different New Mexico universities to receive Archaeological Society of New Mexico Scholarship Awards for the 2019-2020 School Year. These scholarships, totaling $5,800.00, went to fund research and alleviate the financial costs associated with higher education.


2020-2021 Scholarship Application Information

 The Archaeological Society of New Mexico (ASNM) announces that it is accepting applications for the ASNM scholarship money for the 2020-2021 academic year. Awards normally range from $500 to $1000.

Applications are restricted to full-time students attending one of the following academic institutions: Eastern New Mexico University, Highlands University, New Mexico State University, and University of New Mexico. Applicants are limited to Associates, Bachelors, and Master’s degree students and Ph.D candidates in any of the fields covered by the term “anthropology.” Students demonstrating a financial need and an anthropological thesis or approved project relevant to the Greater Southwest will be considered.

All students applying must complete the Candidate Application Form. This form must be completed in its entirety, using additional pages when necessary. Also, please include faculty and scholastic reference letters with the completed application or have the reference letters emailed directly to the email address provided below. Hard copy material may be mailed to the post office address provided below.


Application Deadline: March 15, 2020

ASNM will notify selected applicants by April 15, 2020.
